Thaipusam Festival

Outside India, Thaipusam celebrations take place in USA, Mauritius, Malaysia and Singapore. It is a public holiday in several states in Malaysia. In Malaysia, the temple at Batu Caves, near Kuala Lumpur & Arulmigu Balathandayuthapani Temple, Penang nearGeorge Town, Penang , often attracts over one million devotees and tens of thousands of tourists. This is my first time ever celebrating the Thaipusam in Penang , Malaysia . It is great with all the blessing from all the different cultures.

No matter who you are , it is still the great when come to the festival celebration as you will receive all the blessings from all the different races. Since when the war , greedy , power had caused our humanity lost its" soul. I had heard a lot of terrorist news recently , it is a sad case. Wake up world , make our mind peace , blessing the world for a better place .

It is representing smashing all over the obstacles. For the festive , we can see the devotee are smashing the coconut all over the street .

Street Photography - 'Jonker Street'

The centre street of Chinatown – was once renowned for its antique shops. However over the years it has turned to clothing and crafts outlets as well as restaurants. The best part of Jonker Street is the night market on Fridays and Saturdays that sells everything from tasty treats to cheap keepsakes.

The red 'Tanglun' decoration around the jonker street means the Chinese New Year is around the corner
